Benny as Ginger Tompkins in "Holiday Sports Spectacular" sketch of December 25, 1969. This character was requested by a Benny fan quite some time ago, so I did not want to omit this character.

This was from a running takeoff on The Golden Shot which the real-life Mr. Monkhouse hosted at the time.

Benny as Alan Whicker in "Benny Quickie: Black Moor"

Broadcast: February 4, 1970

This was the only time Mr. Hill impersonated the globe-trotting journalist in all his years with Thames; he'd played Mr. Whicker several times before on the BBC, most recently in the April 20, 1968 "Knicker's World" sketch.

Mr. Hill would impersonate the legendary Scottish singer twice more, in the February 28, 1972 "Benny's All-Star Finale" and the December 17, 1975 "Another Host of Your Favorite Stars!"

The name was a pun on Hughie Green, the real-life host of the talent show Opportunity Knocks which was the basis for this parody.
